Heraklion Airport “Nikos Kazantzakis” is the second busiest airport in Greece and the forty-third busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic. In 2021, it handled 5,046,236 passengers, a 110% increase from 2020. It is used by over 20 airlines flying to more than 100 destinations in 23 different countries.
The airport has two runways (with a length of 2.714m and 1.566m respectively) along with one operational terminal, which covers 21.000 square meters.
